SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.- PG&E Corporation (NYSE: PCG) announced today that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of 7,200,000 shares of its common stock. PG&E Corporation expects to contribute all of the net proceeds from the offering to its regulated utility subsidiary, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, which will use such proceeds for general corporate purposes.
Barclays Capital Inc. is acting as underwriter of the offering. The common shares are being offered under PG&E Corporation's effective automatic shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on February 23, 2011.
